For 1975-77 50 and 55 HP; 1975-77 75 HP (short shaft). The limited clearance between the driveshaft, pinion gear, propeller shaft and clutch dog makes it difficult to start the pinion nut onto the driveshaft. This tool grips the nut allowing you to position it under the driveshaft where it can be quickly threaded on.
