INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

308099 tool - 35 HP and 40 HP upper pinion bearings. Slip upper pinion bearing (part no. 376856) on tool with hardened side (named or numbered) toward flange of tool. Tool will bottom when bearing is in correct position.

Install upper washer (part no. 304795)
Install pinion thrust bearing (part no. 376857)
Install lower washer (part no. 304796)

308098 tool - 35 HP and 40 HP lower pinion bearing. Slip lower pinion bearing (part no. 376858) on tool (either end up) and install bearing.

308100 tool - 50 HP lower pinion bearing

Use to install thrust bearing, shim assembly 377138 and pinion bearing 377133 in one operation.

Note: Upper pinion bearing 377132 must be installed before lower bearing 377133. See instructions for tool 308101.

Locate shim, included with bearing 377138, in recessed area of housing. Slip pinion thrust bearing 377138 on tool with lettered or flat side toward flange. Slip pinion bearing 377133 on tool with either side toward flange. Both bearings may now be installed with an arbor press.

308101 tool - 50 HP upper pinion bearing

Slip upper pinion bearing 377132 on tool 308101 with numbered or lettered hardened flat edge toward flange of tool. Use a mallet or arbor press to install.

308102 tool - 60 HP and 75 HP pinion bearings (both upper and lower)

Slip upper pinion needle bearing 377132 on tool with numbered (hard) edge toward flange of tool. Bearing will bottom at correct position in housing. Remove tool after installing first (upper) bearing. Slip lower pinion needle bearing 378264 on tool. This bearing will also bottom at correct position in housing. Do not attempt to install both bearings in one operation or upper bearing will not seat. Use mallet or arbor press to install bearings.
