SUBJECT: Electrical Components Bracket Ground Leads

ON MODELS: V-6 Outboards

The Johnson V-6 outboards have ground leads from the powerpack mounting screw to powerhead ground, Item 1, the electrical components bracket to powerhead ground, Item 2, and from the powerpack terminal #12 to the powerpack mounting screw, Item 3, on both starboard and port sides. See Figures 1 and 2.

Whenever these components are removed, make sure, on reassembly, that all of these ground leads are correctly reinstalled. Failure to do so may damage the powerpacks.
