MODELS: 2002 Johnson 60° V6 SUBJECT:Vacuum switch


PROBLEM

Field reports indicate false fuel restriction warnings and "Check Engine" light on 2002 (and some older) 60° V6 models. Some vacuum switches may have been manufactured without a vent hole.

SOLUTION

Step 1
All Affected Models in your inventory and all affected product received for servicing and storage must have the correct vented vacuum switch in-stalled. Please inspect your inventory and install a new vacuum switch if it is missing the vent hole.

Step 2
Please inspect all Affected Part Numbers in your parts inventory to make sure that they contain the vent hole. Do not attempt to drill the hole in a non-vented switch. Return all defective switches with the warranty claim.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
After the repair has been completed, a standard warranty allowance request form must be filled out with all required engine information.

Use a flat rate code VS-01 for 0.5 hours. Use a special failing part number of 8888811. Credit for labor will be issued only when the warranty allowance request form is submitted. Return all defective switches with the warranty claim. Bombardier will credit dealers for repairs performed up to 12 months from the date this bulletin is issued.
