Affected Models
ALL 2004 (SR) Evinrude E-TEC 90 HP models ONLY

The recalibration software will optimize fuel consumption and MUST be installed on all affected outboards before delivering to customers.

THE CUSTOMER
Bombardier will send a letter to all registered owners instructing them to return their outboard to an authorized Evinrude or Johnson dealer to complete the software recalibration.

INSPECTION
Remove the engine cover and inspect EMM for recalibration mark as shown below. If the marking is present in the location shown, the recalibrated software has already been installed.

PROCEDURE
If the recalibration software is required, go to the DealerPort® website to download the necessary file. Dealers without DealerPort can send an e-mail requesting the new software.

Log into DealerPort.

Click Engine Software.

Click Download Windows & PDA Engine Maps.

Scroll to the list of Map part numbers and locate Map P/N 3030334, PCN 72936. Click Get Map.

After downloading the file and opening it, the unzip program will place the Engine Map files in three lo-cations for use with PDA, EV DIAG, and PDC Diagnostics software.

IMPORTANT: Do not change the default path from C:\ when the file is unzipped.

If you do not have DealerPort, e-mail a request for the software to bmca.techsvc@brp.com. In the e-mail subject line, you must reference "Software Map 3030334."

Identification Procedure

Every outboard that has had recalibrated software successfully installed must be easily identified.

Use a BLACK permanent marker to mark the EMM as shown below to indicate this recalibration software has been installed.

IMPORTANT: It is not necessary to perform timing verification.

DEALER RESPONSIBILITY
Please contact all of your customers who have purchased these outboards
and request they return their outboards to your dealership for this service. Only the designated horsepower and model year outboard is affected.
